Access

Windward Suites properties are all keyless, and instead use keypad smart locks for all of the doors for both the buildings and units. All guests will receive an email the morning of their arrival with the instructions, codes to the doors and Wifi. Super easy! Check-in time is anytime after 3:00 p.m. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m. Please be respectful of these times unless you have contacted us, as we have a cleaning crew who need the time to do a thorough job before and after all of our guests. There are three on site parking spots which are on a first come first serve basis, there is a city lot on Church St a few blocks away and we have a lot on Oak St, by request only, which is a 5min walk away. www.windwardsuites.com

Howland House is a classic historic, four unit, building with the original construction dating back to 1750. It is one of Newport's oldest homes predating the Revolution. It has undergone many updates and renovations to bring new world comfort with an old world feeling. Unit 18 is located on the second floor and is bathed in natural sunlight. The unit has been recently refreshed with new decor. The french doors opening to the bedroom and hardwood floors throughout make it feel charming and warm. All of Windwards properties are professionally cleaned between guests and come outfitted in high end linens and towels. Aside from the cleanliness of the space, it is in one of the most sought after locations in Newport. Right outside your door you can spot historic St. Mary’s Church, and you are steps away from Thames Street, Bannisters & Bowens Wharf, and endless restaurants, bars, and shopping.
