Access
Windward Suites properties are all keyless, and instead use keypad smart locks for all of the doors for both the buildings and units. All guests will receive an email the morning of their arrival with the instructions, codes to the doors and Wifi. Super easy! Check-in time is anytime after 3:00 p.m. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m. Please be respectful of these times unless you have contacted us, as we have a cleaning crew who need the time to do a thorough job before and after all of our guests. Parking is on street parking. There are no meters and no residential parking sticker requirements which makes it easy to find spots.

Neighbourhood
Located in the more locally populated Broadway neighborhood, this pet friendly building is just a seven minute walk to Newport’s waterfront, although the neighborhood itself is home to many restaurants and coffee shops.
Notes
Dr. Marcus is a three unit building consisting of two bedroom apartment style units with one unit located per floor. Recently “freshened up,” each space is bright and clean with open concept floor plans; each comes equipped with a full kitchen, washer and dryer, newly installed mini splits and access to a shared outdoor brick patio space.

May-27 2025Great set up, very clean. Bedroom beds were comfy, sofa bed.... well, was a sofa bed. Cute kitchen, great location. Dog friendly, first floor was great for our senior dog (and his 90 yr old granny) Blinds and curtains by front door keep you private from people walking to the coffee shop. We enjoyed it!
Very conveniently located apartment - perfect for a family

November-29 2025Fabulous apartment, the photos online are a perfect representation. Very conveniently located in Newport. Updated and clean. The only issue that we had was that the apartment was warm (in November). We had some challenges with the Smart thermostat and ended up opening windows to cool it down. Highly, highly recommend!
Not the best experience

August-15 2026I stayed at this property with a friend while on a girl’s trip to Newport. The communication from the host was good and we had no problem accessing the unit. We were a bit disappointed though with the quality of the unit. It is quite beat up inside compared with the photos. Maybe there was a lot of wear and tear this year. Many dings and scratches on the walls, furniture, and kitchen appliances. The unit is located on the first floor and there are three doors leading directly to the outdoors from the unit, including one from the bedroom. This felt a little unsafe especially because the doors are not in the best shape - older doors that are a bit beat up and even some cracks where you could see through to the outside. We had a difficult time opening and closing the front door as it sticks badly and the door itself seemed to be decaying. The bedrooms were also not the most comfortable. The linens are very basic and a bit hot in the summer. The AC doesn’t seem to circulate well into the bedrooms. We also found someone’s else’s false eyelashes sitting on the barstool in the kitchen immediately upon entering the unit, which made us question the cleanliness. We did find one large bug (a centipede I think) inside the unit in the bathroom. The upstairs neighbors were also quite noisy and could hear a lot of heavy footsteps overhead, including early in the morning. Because it is located on the first floor and the doors/windows are probably a bit older, you can also hear everything from the busy street outside. We ended up checking out a night early and going home. Mostly just mild inconveniences overall, but this just wasn’t the quality experience I would expect given the price point and it wasn’t a very comfortable stay for us.
